History is one word to describe “Le Prieuré” has it is one of the oldest Golf Courses in France. In the 12th Century, Louis VII presented the land to the monks of Grandmontain who cultivated it and built Le Prieuré de Monscient-Fontaine for their use.
From the 16th Century onwards, due to a decline in the number of monks, the land was more or less left to the peasants, who farmed it until the Revolution, when it was sold. It has since known four successive owners, and sports and leisure have now taken the place of the farmers.
Le Prieuré has become one of the most renowned clubs of the Paris region due equally to the quality of its courses, its teams’ results and its ability to recognize and bring to the fore its young talent.
Le Prieuré offers golfers the enjoyment of a varied and adapted game. You can play your favorite sport in the best of conditions, whatever your level, condition and motivation.
